I'm still alive & painting

I have been working even though I've not been posting any pictures for my blogging friends.
I've been teaching a few classes a week. Teaching is a real joy. I love seeing people create something they really like and are proud of.
I am working on commissions most of the time.
January is a great time to do commission portraits-lots of time and no interruptions.

Hi Amber, good to see you back… although you evidently never left… as demonstrated by these recent works! You may not realize it, but your art and targeted comments have molded my way of seeing over the last year and a half or so. As usual, my royalty cheques have been sent to the same “Léger” address in New-Brunswick ;)

Amber, if I didn't write so well... may be I would be a better painter:) That being said, I feel that writing my needs and wants somehow helps realize them, hence all this verbiage in my blog!

BTW Amber, the painting in the middle knocked my socks off! Utter complexity is met with dizzying simplicity, like a full-blown symphony being carried by a few notes. It’s when you tackle complexity that we see the true capabilities of your very personal pictorial language…

Amber, your approach is that of a true artist, i.e., intuitive (outside what is rational or what needs to be understood!). However, as you push the limits in figuration, your art begs for the question:"why does it work?". It's interesting to try to find answers... but your art is not driven by that... luckily! P.S. Sorry, I brought a correction to my deleted comment...

It's so nice to see that you're still working, I wish I got energy from teaching, too, as I think it's so valuable. By the way, I've left a little 'gift' for you on my blog :)

I was really fascinated by your blog.I consider my creative inclination a wonderful gift to produce artwork and my inspiration is my inner self and world around me. There is an attempt to create a powerful emotional bond that reaches the heart and soul of the viewer.

As an artist, I have explored variety of themes and ideas. The exploration clearly reflects the diversity and escapades of my journey of evolving experience and confidence in my work. Paintings as jubilation, emancipation express different emotions like hope, joy, calmness or motivation while abstract waterscape is just vibrant and full of life.
