Amber, thanks for the wise comments. I want to use the painting knife more in the future so you can see I'm really looking for potential technical avenues to explore... while remaining true to my current painting approach. I don't think I'm gonna make it in the galleries without the qualities exemplified by the work above,i.e., a rendition that depicts emotions through the judicious use of colors but also by the way paint is applied (surface quality)...
Saw the after picture of the bottom painting from your previous post on the Heron Bay gallery website. Amber, this is color contrast and saturation that transcends reality!
Amber, this site contains a full gallery of Van Gogh's works: www.vangoghgallery.com/. I've never been in his turf but managed to see one of his works at the Belvedere in Vienna. It was painted with paint squeezed directly from color tubes...talk about freedom!
Amber, and I might add, owing to you, I suddenly realize that I owe to many artists before me… and I owe it to myself to be deserving of their legacy. So many IOU’s… suddenly my paint brush feels heavy… (couldn’t resist!)

Very nice, Amber. The color really pops!
