The previous "unfinished" painting (a matter of point of view) already has that "carved in paint" look. You push thick pigment as if it were watercolor (your signature)...yet you hit the mark most of the time. Enough said :)
I can certainly relate...I'm feeling that way today and it's frustrating and upsetting. I know I will be fine once again, it's that I'm holding onto. :(

Maybe it's the subject matter that you're finding difficult, a little too close to home. I think these pieces are off to a great start.

An artist friend told me that this is a natural part of the creative process.
