Hey Amber! I've been a bit lurky lately, but your work here is very exciting! From what I can see of the value/patterns, this will be really strong.

By the way, if you can find more paintings by a guy named Bob Cunnigham (or Robert Cunningham) online than I did, go check him out. This reminded me of his work. He was a very successful illustrator who's now doing fine art only, and he does a great job of simplifying forms/mass/color/volume in very strong ways.
I may never achieve what my minds eye sees

I think this piece is coming together nicely.You may need to work on another work and go back to it, if your feeling frustrated.
