Lucky me

I entered Max-5 Art competion I went on an Art related trip to Baie-StPaul and came back a changed woman. I tuggle constantly with my direction toward art. Often, I feel like stopping and thats where my mind has been these past few months.
Several blessed things happened
-First I had an opening at Curio Antiques where the kindness and support was overwhealming
Second My trip to Quebec --I was able to see great art and feel the love for it again
Thirdly-My inspiration ,new direction and approval from the judges -who awarded me first place with my painting"Damask" shown above
I'm ready to make art again!!!

Amber, I'm glad Quebec had that effect on you, and I'm not the least surprised (just kidding)! At any rate, I can now breathe easier... knowing that you will pursue ;) BTW, that new layout almost threw me off my chair :)... I mean figuratively! P.S. I also enjoy these recent works, which I find intriguing and addictive... at the risk of repeating myself!

Brilliant! I am always drawn to your people - always looking as if they are mid-breath: much more so than in most photographs - but I love your flowers too. Brilliant!

Congratulations Amber! It is a beautiful painting and you deserved your first place showing! I am also breathing a sigh of relief that you plan to continue to pursue your love of painting -- New Brunswick is all the better for it! Take care.

Hi Amber. I came across your blog while randomly "blog surfing" and really like your work. When you mentioned that you had thought about stopping (doing art) it reminded me of something I read years ago. I'm afraid I don't remember the author nor can I qoute him exactly. But the essence of what he said was this. There's nothing wrong with stopping something, because stopping usually implies you intend to start up again in the future. But quitting is a different story, because that implies that you've given up completely. Just thought that idea might help in the future. Stop for a while, if you must, but please don't quit. Your work is great!
